A Wapping Sunset
We are pleased to present our first regular
evening walk, which takes place every
Tuesday at 6pm
until 29th Sep 09 inc.

Entitled 'A Wapping Sunset', this walk starts
from Tower Hill at 6pm, and introduces you
to the history and beauty of St. Katherine's
Dock, before proceeding via the Thames
riverside walk to view the 'Pool of London'
from the Hermitage gardens, as the sun
descends behind Tower Bridge to the west.
We then continue along the river to the
'Wapping Pier Head'- a very atmospheric
place where, for over 160 years, ships from
around the world entered and left the old
London Docks.
Then via a secret passageway, we enter the
Great Western Dock itself (the largest part
of the London Dock complex) before tracing
the route of an ornamental canal which
leads us  to the Hermitage basin, and then
back to St. Katherine's Dock.
We end the walk at 7.30pm at the 'Dickens
Inn' in St. Katherine's Dock, where there is
an option to stay for drinks in the evening
sunset. Those wishing to return straight to
Tower Hill will be guided through to the
station.

This walk starts at 6pm every Tuesday
until 29th Sep 2009 inc
; just meet at
the giant sundial above Tower Hill tube
station.

The walk costs £5 per person with
proceeds going to 'Oxfam' and 'Cancer
Research UK'.
